North West : Population Defy Security Challenges

Registered voters made their choice in the Presidential election with enthusiasm.

The population of the North West Region on October 12, 2025 with enthusiasm joined voters across Cameroon and the diaspora to cast their votes in the presidential election to decide who among the 12 candidates will lead the country for the next seven years.
The election day broke in the North West Regional capital, Bamenda, with drizzling rain. This weather conditions did not in any way deter the eager population who defied the rains to rush to public structures hosting stations to cast their votes. In each structure, there were ready members of the Local Polling Commissions who helped the voters in the operation. Despite the general enthusiasm, in many polling stations few candidates had representatives.
North West Regional Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique cast his vote around 9 a.m. After doing so he told the press, “I can confirm that polling stations were open in the North West Region at 8.a.m. The electors are voting without any hitches across the region according to the reports I have received from the various Senior Divisional Officers of the region. I have voted myself.  And I can see that there are many voters waiting to choose the one who will lead this...
