2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup : Tough Warm-up Phase

The U-17 women’s national team of Cameroon are gearing up for the 2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup with their last international preparatory friendly match against Ecuador in Kénitra, Morocco, today, October 13, 2025. This game comes after a challenging start to their warm-up fixtures, in which they suffered defeats in their first two friendlies. The Lionesses opened their pre-World Cup international friendlies with a heavy 1-4 loss to China, followed by a closely contested 2-3 defeat to host nation Morocco. In the match against Morocco on October 10, 2025, the Cameroonian team showed remarkable fighting spirit and determination. After going into halftime trailing 2-0, the Lionesses came out strong in the second half. Tiwa Lys Fraîche converted a penalty to bring Cameroon back into the game, trimming the deficit. Although Morocco regained their two-goal edge, substitute Ange Tazanou scored late in the game to narrow the margin to 3-2. However, Cameroon fell just short of earning a draw.
