Diplomacy : Italian Ambassador Leaves Cameroon

Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo was granted a farewell audience by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on October 24, 2025.
The outgoing Italian Ambassador, Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo who has come to the end of his diplomatic assignment in Cameroon, was on October 24, 2025 granted a farewell audience by the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute. The two personalities reviewed cooperation ties between Yaounde and Rome, noting the achievements of the Head of Mission during his tenue and prospecting greater cooperation.
In his statement to the press, Ambassador Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo noted that there has been an improvement in commercial exchanges, especially with regards to importation and exportation. “We have achieved a lot especially as I came here after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic that affected very much the Italian economy in 2021. I arrived in October 21, exactly four years ago. During this time, there has been some recovery. We import cocoa of very good quality, coffee, banana, pineapples from Cameroon. We also export to Cameroon, lot of machinery and technology and some wine,” the Italian Ambassador told reporters.
As per cooperation prospects, Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo said they would like to see the importation of more made-in-Cameroon products. “We need more investment and joint ventures between our companies, and more sharing of technology.
