As they await the 2025-2026 season, football clubs in the MTN Elite One and Two are intensifying preparations and measuring their readiness through friendly games.
The professional football scene in Cameroon is buzzing with activity as clubs across the MTN Elite One and Elite Two Championships intensify preparations for the 2025-2026 season. Since the official start date is yet to be made public, teams are seizing every opportunity to train rigorously and test their tactical and physical readiness through a growing number of friendly matches.
On November 2, 2025, Victoria United of Limbe demonstrated impressive form in a pre-season friendly. The Limbe-based MTN Elite One side delivered a dominant performance, overwhelming Africk-midi FC with a staggering 13-1 victory at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium. This emphatic win marked Victoria United’s sixth friendly match of the pre-season and signaled significant progress as they fine-tune their squad with ambitions for a strong campaign ahead. The desire of Victoria United to multiply friendlies reflects a broader trend among clubs in both MTN Elite One and Elite Two, all eager to sharpen their skills and build cohesion after recent player recruitments. The reigning champions of Cameroon, Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo, are equally hungry to defend their title. Their preparations for the CAF Champions League will no doubt be instrumental for the upcoming season. After their elimination in the continental showpiece, it has been announced that they will return to training on November 10, 2025: first to prepare for the final of the Cup of Cameroon, and then for the championship.
