Promoting Academic Excellence: FCFA 20 Million for Santa Students

A cademic excellence was once more celebrated in Santa on September 12, 2026 as over 170 students who had outstanding performance in end-of-course examinations re­ ceived certificates and cash prizes amounting to FCFA 20, 330, 000. It was the fifth edition of excel­ lence award to meritorious stu­ dents in Santa Subdivision under the leadership and guidance of President Paul Biya offered by the organization Mighty Santa Caucus whose vision is to pro­ mote the Santa Subdivision as a land of excellence in the domains of education and sustainable li­ velihood. The winners of the awards ranged from the level of PhD, Master’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree to General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced and Ordinary Levels. The President of the Mighty Santa Caucus, Dr Chi Asafor Cor­ nelius who is also the Secretary General of the National Commis­ sion for the Promotion of Bilin­ gualism and Multiculturalism in his speech said, “When students pursue excellence, they are not only improving their own lives. They are preparing themselves to contribute to the transforma­ tion of their families and com­ munities.” Taking into account the challenging security crisis context in which the students studied and excelled, Dr Chi Asa­ for told them, “Use your know­ ledge to solve problems, promote peace, and serve your community, and not for permanent self-pride.” As the key message, he said, “We want to tell the youths of Santa, North West and Cameroon that nothing should stop them from pursuing their education.
