E-Governance: Digital Transformation Summit Previewed

The three-day conclave planned for October 14 to 17 was announced during a press conference held in Yaounde on October 1, 2026.

C ameroon’s Head of State H.E President Paul Biya in his 2025 end-of-year speech echoed the need for digital transformation of the economy and the modernisation of Public Services, required to acce­ lerate the integrations of digital tech­ nology into the function of public administration. It is against this back­ drop that the Smart Click Africa or­ ganization under the patronage of the Ministry of Posts and Telecom­ munications (MINPOSTEL) is organi­ sing the maiden edition of the E-Go­ vernment Africa summit billed for October 14-17, 2026, at the Yaounde Conference Centre. The announcement was made last Thursday 1st October during a press conference that was chaired by the Secretary General of MINPOSTEL, Mohomadou Saudi, on behalf of the Minister, Minette Libom Li Likeng. According to the Secretary General, the Pan African summit to be conve­ ned under the theme “Artificial In­ telligence and e-Governance: Building Effective Public Services in a Cashless and Paperless Africa”; underscores the need for incorporating advanced technology to administration that ensures sustainability, transforms publication, while improving the qua­ lity of services to citizens through modernised administrative structures which has been the case in most pu­ blic institutions such as the Directo­ r...
