Diplomacy: Korean Ambassador Departs

Nam Ki-Wook who has come to the end of his diplomatic assignment was granted a farewell audience yesterday September 3, 2026 by Minister Felix Mbayu.
T he outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cameroon, Nam Ki-Wook, who has come to the end of his diplomatic assignment in the country has been granted a farewell audience by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu. This was yesterday September 3, 2026 at the Ministry of External Relations, where both personalities discussed achievements in the last three years, a period which represents the tenure of the Head of Mission in Cameroon. Speaking to reporters at the end of the in-camera meeting, Ambas- sador Nam Ki-Wook said they held talks on various topics within the framework of bilateral relations, ranging from high-level visits to agreements signed and projects executed. “In 2023, the Korean Prime Minister carried out a working visit to Cameroon for the first time. The Minister and I are of the opinion that the event greatly contributed to the development of the rela- tionships between our two coun- tries. And also, our two countries signed an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports and it came to force last year. We believe this agreement will be a great corners- tone and very important framework to further develop human exchange between our countries,” he said. The Korean diplomat added that, together with the Minister, they are of the opinion of improving ef- forts to further strengthen coope- ration ties. More concretely, several projects are being realised in Cameroon wi- thin the framework of a joint part- nership that seeks to enhance sus- tainable development. I...
