Transport Planning : Public Works School Begins Master’s Programme

Funded by the World Bank, the two-year course was launched in Yaounde on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.
Cameroon will in the near future no longer depend on expatriates to carry out transport planning-related projects. This follows the launch in Yaounde on February 22, 2022 of a Master’s degree programme in Transport Planning by the National Advanced School of Public Works, NASPW. Funded by the World Bank, the two-year training will be undertaken with the technical support of three foreign universities. They are Université Libre, Brussels, Belgium, and the Universities of Padua and Rome Sapienza in Italy.
Speaking at the launch, Ebang Mve Urbain Noel, the Secretary General in the Ministry of Public Works said the training will offer “Cameroonian solutions to Cameroonian felt needs.” He said graduates from the course could also be employed by local governments such as regional councils, city councils and councils.
“Over the years, most projects in transport planning used foreign engineers.
