Youzou Elite Basketball Championship: BEAC Yaounde, Dan Battiston In Control

The ninth and tenth playing days of the competition took place in Yaounde and Douala last weekend.

BEAC Basketball Club of Yaounde (men) and Daniel Battiston Basketball Club of Douala (woman) are presently dominating the Youzou Elite Basketball Championship. This is the outcome of the day ninth and tenth playing days of the competition that took place in Yaounde and Douala last weekend. The competition marked the end of the first phase of the championship for the 2025 season. Orgnanised by the Cameroon Basketball Federation, (FECABASKET), the competition unfolded in the men’s and women’s categories. In the women’s competition, United Ladies beat Moungo Zone of Nkongsamba 47-38. Mantho Tsida was the top striker with 16 points, 11 rebounds and one assist. Battiston beat University of Douala 51-46 with Raissa Tamko scoring 15 points, four rebounds and three assists. Still in the women’s category Overdose Up Station beat AS Keep 64-56 with Audrey Batchaya scoring 29 points, five rebounds and six assists. In the men’s competition, Merterns Aboudi of FAP Yaounde thrashed ALPH Yaounde 74- 61. Merterns Aboudi scored 19 points with nine rebounds. Haris Bateki of Ecole de Basket of Douala equally caught the attention of the public by contributing to his team’s 59-46 victory over Moungo Zone. At the end of the first phase, BEAC is topping the men’s classification table with 13 points. FAP Yaounde, vice champions last season, and ALPH Yaounde, finalists at the 2024 edition of the Cup of Cameroon are second and third on the classification table with 12 points each.
