Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship: Committed Performance From Cameroonian Clubs

Despite not reaching the podium, Volleyball lovers in Cameroon are celebrating the determination of its two representatives, Litto Team and Mayo Kani Evolution, at the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship which concluded yesterday April 13, 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria. In effect, Litto Team finished seventh while Mayo Kani Evolution ended on the 13th position. A closer look at the performance of both clubs reveals a story of unwavering commitment against formidable opposition. Litto Team, after a strong showing to reach the quarterfinals, faced a tough challenge against, CF Carthage of Tunisia. Litto team’s dreams for the title were dashed by the Tunisians 0 set to 3. Showing remarkable mental fortitude, Litto Team navigated the challenging classification rounds. A setback against a strong Kenya Prisons side in the 5th-8th place match did not dampen their spirits. Instead, they rallied impressively in the 7th8th place playoff, delivering a decisive 3-1 victory over Armée Patriotique of Rwanda on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Similarly, Mayo Kani Evolution, after their elimination in the round of 16 by Al Ahly of Egypt, showcased their mettle in the lower classification brackets.
