T he U17 Lionesses of Cameroon have secured a spot in the upcoming FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup that will take place in Morocco in October and November. They picked their qualification ticket on Friday, April 25, 2025 after they beat the Harambee Starlets of Kenya 3-1 in the second leg last round qualifiers for the Women’s U17 World Cup that took place on Friday April 25, 2025 at the Olembe Stadium. Supporters of the UI7 Lionesses team thronged the stadium to encourage the players with drum beats and chants. It was a thrilling encounter that kept fans alert throughout the game, encouraging the players. The U17 Lionesses began the game well with a good play style that paid off as Beatrice Lafortune Avana opened scores at the seventh minute. That sparked off joy among the players and their fans. However, the joy was not for long as the Kenyans were able to equalise shortly after through a penalty taken by Elizabeth Ochaka.
