African Women’s Futsal Cup: Cameroon Sails Through To Semis

The futsal Lionesses beat Namibia 6-5 in the quarterfinals match that took place on April 26, 2025 at the Prince Moulay Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco.

The national women’s futsal team will play against Tanzania today, Monday, April 28, 2025 in the semi-finals of the first African Women’s Futsal Cup in Rabat, Morocco. Cameroon qualified for the semi-finals after they beat Namibia 6-5 in the quarterfinals yesterday April 27, 2025 in a tough encounter that took place at the Prince Moulay Sports Complex in Rabat. The encounter that will take place at 5:00 p.m. promises to produce fireworks as each side will be seeking to secure a spot in the final. Last Saturdays encounter was the second outing for the Lionesses in the competition. Even though the futsal Lionesses were dominated in the first half by the Namibians (2-3), the Lionesses never gave up hope. The Lionesses fought hard and were able to turn the tables. The Lionesses took over control of the game in the second half with Yvana Bomozomo scoring three goals for Cameroon. Despite the pressure from the Namibians, the Lionesses held on to the end. From the result, Cameroon finished among the three best teams in the group stage and moved on the last four.
