At Limbe II Town Hall Confab with OPIC: Council, Users Clarified On Rights, Duties

The South West Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) was out on another public meeting this time in Limbe II municipality to explain the Office role and clarify Council and users’ duties and rights

“Civic participation in local communities is the bedrock for sustainable development” This statement was underscored by Telelen Dorothy Motaze, Public Independent Conciliator of the South West Region, during a maiden Town-Hall meeting convened with stakeholders of the Limbe II Municipality, Mokundange, on June 11, 2025. Summoned under the theme “Office of the Public Independent Conciliator: Strengthening collaboration with community stakeholders of Limbe II Municipality and the Council to consolidate local government through quality service delivery,” the OPIC edified the attendees on the reciprocal responsibilities likewise their relationship with the municipal Council and the OPIC. In her keynote address on the rights and duties of users of Council services, Madam Telelen Dorothy, made a Clarion call to all and sundry to actively participate in civic activities such as Tax payments, participation in democratic policies, responsible use of public property, amongst others. Given that we are in the election year, the Independent Conciliator urged youths to give peace a chance, curb voter apathy, and inscribe their names on the voter register.
