Paul Biya Votes In Bastos

The incumbent Head of State and CPDM candidate together with his wife exercised their civic responsibilities at Government Bilingual Primary School yesterday, October 12, 2025.

Casting of votes has ended in the country for the 2025 Presidential election, but history will record that it was at Ntougou I Polling Station at Government Bilingual Primary School Bastos ‘A’ under Yaounde I Council Area, Mfoundi Division of the Centre Region that incumbent President, Paul Biya and wife, Chantal, voted to choose Cameroon’s Head of State for the next seven years. As soon as President Paul Biya and wife arrived at the Ntougou I Polling Station, at about midday to the ovation of the population and dance groups, they, like all the 282 others who were scheduled to vote therein, followed the outlined procedure. 
Under the control of the Chairman of the Polling Station, Bindzi Edzimbi Gervais Edmond, Paul Biya, whose name was first on the list of voters, initially verified his name on the voter’s list. He was then given the ballot papers of all the competing candidates and an envelope which he took to the polling booth to decide who to vote for. After a few minutes, the Head of State emerged from the closet with the envelope containing his choice which he slotted into a transparent ballot box; amidst applause from all those who had filled the hall, waiting to live the historic moment. Candidate Paul Biya then moved forward to affix his signature and finger print on the electoral roll, dipped his finger in indelible ink as a sign that one has voted and the procedure was over for him, as he like other citizens,  obviously await the results. The First Lady followed the same process and did like her spouse, to the admiration of a huge crowd of national and international observers as well as the media that inundated the hall and even the vicinity long before the arrival of the Presidential couple.
A visibly serene President Paul Biya told the media after fulfilling his civic responsible that the vote was a sign of democratic maturity and that he awaits the outcome of the polls. Results which should be published by the Constitutional Council at m...
