Cameroon lost the yellow jersey at the end of the fifth lap yesterday after holding it for four consecutive laps. In your view, what happened? This is the nature of the competition: you can wear the yellow jersey one day and lose it the next. Rodrigue Kuéré Nounawé kept the yellow jersey for long because he held it for four laps with two riders very close to him. Apart from other things that may have happened during the race, information I am getting from ground is stating that the main mistake Nounawé made was launching an attack on Charroise Leo, who was on the same time like him. Had he not attacked, he would likely have stayed with the peloton and positioned himself to contest the sprint finish, perhaps edging that rider at the line. That did not happen, but it is not over. All is not lost. Nounawé and the other riders must keep fighting and stay focused. What do you think of the organization at mid-race? Overall, the race has moved along, though not without issues. In the Grand North where we had the first three laps, the heat was intense; conditions improved as we headed south. The teams are doing their work and you can see that. From an organisational standpoint, there are a few minor problems; nothing major; but they should be addressed. My main wish is that everyone remain professional and stick to their responsibilities.
