Agriculture : Agro Ecology Takes Centre Stage

A national fair to display innovations in the sector took place from October 2-3, 2025, in Yaounde.

In a bid to combat the rise of inorganic production and consumption in Cameroon, Agroecologist from Cameroon met in Yaounde from October 2-3, 2025 for a national fair of agro ecological innovation. Uniting producers, processors, consumers, and agricultural professionals in Yaounde, the ceremony organized by African Institute for Economic and Social Development (INADES)-Formation Cameroun as part of the Knowledge Center for Organic Agriculture in Africa (KCOA/CCAB) project, held in synergy with the official launch of the Cameroon Organic Agriculture Movement (COAM).
Coming at a time when Cameroon’s Government is channeling resources to boost local production that meets the growing food demands of the country. Adjia Aime, representing the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe, underscored that local production and transformation are vital to boost the nation's economy. He encouraged local producers to look beyond domestic borders and endeavor to export "Made in Cameroon" produce, leveraging the global demand for quality goods to fuel the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to the Director of INADES, Raphael Meigno Bokagne, worldwide organic agriculture is a growing industry.
