Ponzi Scheme : Cloud Boost Gulps Millions

The quest to make ends meet has rather left many Cameroonians indebted with liquidated assets since the business went aloof in September 2025.
In a bid to generate passive income to sustain livelihood, several Cameroonians invested a minimum sum of FCFA 360,000 summing to $550, to enroll in the entry level category one of Cloud boost Technology Advertising Co. Ltd (CB1). Urged by referee’s statement “If you don’t take risks, you will spend your life working for someone who does,” scores of investors sealed their fate in the now-defunct online platform. The platform recently introduced to Cameroonian investors in January 2025, promising impossibly high returns, evaporated in September 2025 with an estimated FCFA 28 billion ($50 million) in losses from Cameroon and abroad.
Among the victims is Lombe Nadine, who through her mother’s referral, joined the scheme in early June. According to Lombe, “if my mother could do the investment safely for several months, why not me?”. “Consequently, I signed up for basic entry level CB 1 that enabled me to view seven social media adverts on either Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or Twitter for a task income of FCFA 1,476 ($2.46) summing to FCFA 10,332 ($17.22) daily, and an approximate FCFA 45000 weekly income after a 21 per cent tax rate deduction.
Just Like Money Man, Teks Global, Eximpro, amongst other Ponzi Schemes, CB operated with the bold simplicity of a pyramid operation. According to an investor Mark Ndia, investors were told the proceed was generated from content creators who utilized their services to boost engagement and social media presence through likes and subscriptions. The purported Australian Company compelled investors to plough back profit in sprouted high-yield foreign exchange trades and purchase emerging crypto assets in Cloud SE, CB Family Plan, Cloud Boost Max or upgrade to higher echelon withing the Cloud Boost scheme.
