Cameroon International Film Festival: 9thEdition Underway In Buea

Film-makers got to work at the 9th edition of Cameroon International Film Festival at the Buea Mountain Hotel on Tuesday April 22, 2025. They are having master classes in acting, directing, cinematography and phone photographing and also workshops on marketing and distributions. There were also projections at the former Alliance FrancoCameroon Buea, Buea Mountain Hotel, and W Cinema at Mile 16. There are also master class on digital marketing and a category for series films, which is newly introduced. The 9th edition of CAMIFF was opened at the Buea Mountain Hotel on Monday, April 21, 2025, by Fai Donatus Tangem, Director of Cinematography at the Ministry of Arts and Culture. He saluted Agbor Gilbert Ebot, Promoter of CAMIFF, who dreams of having Buea transform into a melting spot, cultural exchange and cross fertilization of ideas. He however regretted that the people of Buea, all filmmakers in Cameroon and business magnets are not taking advantage of CAMIFF platform to make it big. CAMIFF kickstarted with a film show. It is a Nigerian film titled “Conversation On Transit.” The event also had a cocktail setting.
