General Hospital: Medical Training Centre Opens

The centre, which will train state-registered nurses, nursing assistants, and laboratory technicians, was inaugurated on Monday, November 17.

The Douala General Hospital Medical Training Centre has officially commenced operations. The centre, which opened on November 17, will train nurses, nursing assistants, and laboratory technicians. A total of 107 students have been admitted as the inaugural cohort of trainees.

On the opening day, the new students were oriented about the expectations placed upon them and the resources that the hospital will offer. They took time to ask questions for clarification, ensuring that their teaching and learning experiences will be smooth. During the inauguration of the school, the regional delegate of Public Health for the Littoral, Dr. Saurel Ngo’o Mebe, urged the students to concentrate on their studies. He stated that the Minister of Public Health is committed to ensuring they receive the best training for optimal outcomes. He encouraged them to put forth their best efforts and graduate with distinction at the end of their program.

Dr. Ngo’o Mebe emphasized the importance of academic excellence within the health education system. He highlighted the crucial role of discipline, active class attendance, and respect among students in fostering a competitive work environment.
