Cameroon-Türkiye Relations : Ambassador Pledges Greater Collaboration

Volkan Öskiper was received by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday January 21, 2025 where he reaffirmed the commitment.


The newly designated Turkish Ambassador to Cameroon, Volkan Öskiper has reiterated his determination to work hardest for the deepening of cooperation ties between Cameroon and his country. He was speaking after an audience with the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, yesterday January 21, 2025, at the Star Building. It was the maiden audience between the Turkish diplomat and the Prime Minister, following the presentation of the advance copies of his lettres of credence to the Minister of External Relations on January 8, 2025. “This is my second week here and I was graciously received by the Prime Minister on such short notice. We have discussed our relations in general, exchanged the positions that we share. Türkiye and Cameroon are indeed very close in every sense; trade, economy, culture, defense and security issues. We both stated our desire to work harder to even deepen and further our relations. I am going to work as hard as I can to make this possible," Ambassador Volkan Öskiper stated in his declaration to the press after the audience with the Head of Government.
Indeed, the Ambassador reaffirms his commitment to enhance bilateral relations that are greatly positive. Cameroon and Türkiye cooperate in various domains. The two have a good trading history, with Cameroon exporting raw materials such as wood, rubber, bananas, coffee and cocoa to Türkiye.
