Cameroon-Commonwealth Partnership: Exploring Mutual Prosperity

Discussions to that effect were held on November 20 between Minister Felix Mbayu and the Head of West Africa Department at the Commonwealth Office in London, Chris Carter.
As part of efforts in delivering to their respective peoples through outlined programmes jointly implemented by Cameroon and the Commonwealth, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, held talks with the visiting Head of West Africa Department at the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office in London, Chris Carter. These discussions took place at the Ministry of External Relations on November 20, 2025 with the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Matt Woods, accompanying the august guest. A statement to the press by the British official shortly after the over one-hour audience indicates that the personalities reviewed state of relations between Cameroon and the Gentlemen’s Club, especially the country’s participation in fostering shared principles of the international organisation. Bilateral issues between the government of Cameroon and the United Kingdom equally came under scrutiny. In the words of Chris Carter, “We discussed bilateral cooperation for mutual prosperity and the economic road we want to see Cameroon and the UK, through areas of opportunities and cooperation.
